“A traditional Russian Matryoshka nesting doll set comprising ten hand-painted wooden figures decorated in warm gold, cream, and pink tones with stylised floral motifs and lacework detailing. Each doll fits neatly inside the next, graduating down to a tiny miniature figure. The base is signed in Cyrillic and dated 1996 indicating production in Bogorodskoye, a well-known centre for Russian wooden folk crafts. Finished with a light lacquer, the set represents a classic late 20th-century Russian folk art Matryoshka, with the largest doll measuring approximately 19 cm in height.”
